Something About "Maggie"

Maggie came into our lives as a 4-5 month old puppy that nobody wanted. Her name was Abbey, but we already had one named that, so she was christened "Maggie." Her owner was ready to have her put down because she was too hyper and he couldn't get her house broke. He would leave her in a crate for 12 or more hours and then come home to a mess. At that point he would throw her in the garage for the night in the middle of Winter.

Maggie is a prime example of people not researchng the breed before they decide to get a dog. We have had no problems with her house training. She is a joy to be around. And as far as hyper, Maggie is a Shorthair. You need to understand that Shorthairs are going to get their exercise one way or another.

Our good friend Jim Dinges rescued her. He called to see if we knew of anyone who would like a puppy. We thought Maggie might make a good pet for our daughter and family. Half way home, I knew Maggie wouldn't be going any where.

Maggie is a wonderful house pet, hunter and appreciates anything you do for her or with her. She will be working on her SH this Fall. We can also see her doing Agility and NAVHDA.

On March 10, 2000, "Jack" & "Maggie" had eight beautiful puppies. There were four boys and four girls. Maggie is a wonderful mother.
